"Sunshine," by Grace Walker Goad
Grace's drawing, above, is displayed at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, near the Polk Theater entrance, downtown Nashville, until January 7, 2011. It can easily be spotted before or after a show or during intermission at the many TPAC performances this month. The facility, which also houses the Tennessee State Museum, below, is also open during the daytime. The auxiliary “Creative Expressions XVI," exhibit, which includes the piece, above, is sponsored by Vanderbilt Kennedy University Center for Excellence on Developmental Disabilities and the Nashville Mayor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities. Also until January 7, the "Creative Expressions" exhibit is located at the Kennedy Center, where this piece is displayed. More on the above piece and other GraceArt here. "Sunshine" first appeared in a post here.
What an awesome prize. My son is auisttic and was originally diagnosed as severe with no language whatsoever. He did ABA for five years, it saved his life and ours. He is now a walking, talking, healthy, happy, non frustrated teenager who is ready to take on life! He is passed his ABA days but still goes to a school for children with autism so I will pass this along! If I were to win it would get passed on to New Heights Learning Services. They would get SO much use out of it! Thank you and the company for the opportunity!
