This post was scheduled to publish on Monday but did not until today, Thursday, because my blog's PLATFORM, Typepad, was attacked. (Meaning anyone who uses Typepad to host their blog heard crickets for about five days. Nada. It nothing personal to me, but then, when I couldn't publish, it became personal. Grrrr.) So, back to regularly scheduled programming? Holding breath:
It seems a century ago since meeting Liza Graves and Elizabeth Fox at an early gathering of "Nashville Women Who Blog." In blog-technology and trends, it was almost that long ago, albeit on a mid-to-late July Saturday evening in 2008, in a crowded, noisy Gulch restaurant. These two burst onto the local new media scene, elegant and gracious and poised to make it big in the blogosphere. Truly, they were about to launch their wildly popular and influential blog, StyleBluePrint, which, if I recall correctly, started with a Nashville edition and then quickly branched into Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Louisville and Southern editions.
With flair, panache and sharp writing, the two and crew cover food, fashion, city happenings, important causes and a Monday series entitled "Faces." Today, [errr, make that this last Monday] I am [was] most honored to be featured in StyleBluePrint's Faces of Nashville.
Thank you, Liza and Elizabeth for deeming worthy of your readers the passionate cause of my heart and my life, Autism and April's national Autism Awareness Month. (And if you missed that link, ha, clickeroo right 'chere: StyleBluePrint.com/FACESofNashville
And, one more tiny thing. No, make that BIG THANG: Styleblueprint is a sponsor of this weekend's "Listen to Your Mother," Nashville's one-time Saturday 7PM show at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center's Polk Theater. As I wrote about here, I'll be taking the stage with 12 other unique voices about having a mother, being a mother, about not even being a mother. And, of course, I'll be sharing my perspective from the view of the autism journey. I'll say it again: you're gonna laugh. You're gonna cry. And if you miss this inaugural 2014 #LTYMnashville performance that gives "Motherhood a Microphone," you're gonna be really sorry. Four hundred plus men and women and counting will be tell you how funny and heart stretching it was…I know. I've heard all of my cast mate's readings twice and I can't wait to hear them once more during the pre-show rehearsals and then live with you! Book 'em Dano! http://patron.tpac.org/events/detail/listen-to-your-mother-tpac See you there and thanks for your support. xoxo
