We who have disAbilities…or DIFFabilities…such as my daughter…
We. Are. Not. Broken.
Like all of us, she–my daughter–is a child of God.
How could something of divine lineage be broken?
Like all of us, she brings Gifts to this world.
And a bag crammed packed with some extra challenges.
It is our job, my job, to help her unpack that luggage and to discover,
Discover
Just what are those gifts?
What does she, and others–all of us–bring to this sweet planet Mother Earth?
Is it to love, be loving? To sing? To Create? To invent things? To figure out things be it math, my checkbook, to clean and polish like no other, to plant things?
How about to Just Be.
To be served.
To teach. Ah, to teach us? To teach us more that we can teach her/him/them?
She/they/we are not broken.
We are
Perfectly
Imperfect.
That
is
Beautiful.
And
Not broken.
So beautiful and true, thank you!
