Addendum 9.1.12 8 p.m.: STARBUCKS EXHIBIT POSTPONED: Well-uh, we
arrived at Starbucks on Hillsboro Road in Green Hills on Saturday
evening per our instructions for the hanging of GraceArt, only to see
that they had double booked the space. The manager who, in May, booked
the show, per his calendar availability, for September, is supposed to
call tomorrow. We were juggling art for three fall shows and an
office space, so not sure how this is going to work out now. We hope
anyone planning to make a special trip to see the show sees this
message. We will post a few more times on our various social media
sites.
GraceArt has us hopping again. Late this Saturday, September 1, when all the
coffee patrons have moved on from the old wooden church pew that borders
the left wall of the back sitting room of Starbucks on Hillsboro Road,
in Green Hills, here in Nashville, I'll be hanging a few pieces of
GraceArt. It will be a solo show on that one wall through the end of the
month. Grab a latte and come look! Per usual, all pieces are for sale
after the show is taken down.
The hardest part was choosing which pieces to hang: which to send to Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, for their annual September to December Mayor's Advisory Committee on Disabilities exhibit, what to save out for a short group show in November and what to send to the offices of a local psychologist for temporary installation. Plus, in April (North Carolina autism community alert!) GraceArt will be featured as the solo artist at The Artery in Greensboro, N.C. during national autism awareness month. The reception is scheduled for Saturday, April 13. Another group show, which we will be in here in Nashville is also in the works for the spring.
Come see us in Nashville this fall. Plenty of opportunities!
You can see more of her art at www.GraceGoad.com. Updates are in the works. S-l-o-w-l-y. But, surely. Hop! Hop!
