As a young 20something, I came to this realization following a two-week story trip in Hawaii. Just after my return to Atlanta, I  drove past the red clay and dotted pine terrain of North Georgia into my home state of South Carolina's Piedmont: beauty is everywhere. It's apples and oranges. BUT: if you forced me to tell you where I think the most beautiful terrain of the world, my heart swells with love for the Pacifc Northwest. We'll be taking lots of ferries about the Seattle and San Juan Islands and British Columbia for our honeymoon there. Photo:

We've battened down the hatches. Hired a house sitter and we're off to the Pacific Northwest. Blogging from there might happen, at least a few posts from here. We'll see. We still have not yet launched DeeLeisaOus Travels, our travel blog that already has scores of posts documenting trips to Trinidad, Western North Carolina and bordering mountainous Virginia. I did not take my moving and pre-wedding mantra to heart here: "Perfect is the Enemy of the Good." I've been waiting for a design spiff before we go to public…for one.five years now.

So, in the mean time, as Dee and I now launch our married lives, I thought it fitting to share these original thoughts of his unearthed on a small notepad during our move:

"Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other."

"Approach Love and cooking with reckless abandon."

"Take into account that Great Love and Great Achievements take Great Risk."  — M. Dee Hamilton
