During our book signing, ITVS Community Cinema will host a separate reception at 2:30 p.m. for their 3 p.m. free screening of the amazing movie, "The Horse Boy." I and others will serve on a panel discussion about the movie and autism issues affecting families, from 4-4:45. I'll be reviewing the film here on Wed., April 21. Also a book, by the same name, "The Horse Boy" this is a documentary of an incredible Texas family initially devastated by their son's diagnosis of autism. Grasping for a connection with their son, they do something radically weird, different and what ends up being an incredibly beautiful journey of love–riding horseback across Mongolia….Don't miss this!
The three book related events above, held during April, national Autism Awareness Month, will wrap up our six-month local tour, which began in November–with breaks in February and March. In addition to the eight local events we've had–including two gallery exhibits and signings–we aim to take our exhibit on tour to Southeast art galleries and also national. Any leads–names of gallery directors and venue contacts–you have are greatly appreciated. While our book focused on local families, we know the art of our photography, design and prose transcends regional boundaries. From Heartache to Hope is a universal message about living with autism.Thank you for purchasing our book, if you have not already, and for spreading the word.
Good luck with your book signings! Wish I lived closer–I’d pop in to say hi!
Thanks, JoLyn. Well, when we go national, you never know where we might land!
