To the credit of the many esteemed photographers to whom we spoke at the Brentwood Photography Group, Wed., January 5, 2010, this was not taken by them. I sprung my new mini-Nikon CoolPix on "The Fiance." Shown: Rebekah Pope, left, and that's me, right. While the size (a deck of cards) of this sexy lil' camera is seductive, the lens range is better than my Canon Rebel's standard lens, and it shoots 12 mega pixels, we both covet the Canon.
"How's the book tour going?" Someone recently asked. It didn't occur to me until I was updating a friend via email just now that, yes, I guess we are on book tour, albeit in Greater Nashville. (Doh.) Next stop: Tonight, Tues., Jan. 12, 7 p.m. at Nashville's beloved independent, Davis-Kidd Booksellers at The Mall at Green Hills. Rebekah and I will be discussing and signing our book, From Heartache to Hope: Middle Tennessee Families Living with Autism." Please join us in person. And if you are elsewhere, in spirit.
Next up: Our reception was warm at the Brentwood Photography Group. And, the Nashville Photography Club has asked us to present Tuesday, Jan. 19, 7 p.m., First Baptist Church, Nashville on Broadway.
And, rounding off this second portion of our tour, we''ll have an expanded photography show of Rebekah's photographs from the book at Vanderbilt Kennedy Center from Jan. 18 – March 29 with a reception on Thurs., Jan. 28 at 5 p.m. Again, the public is welcome.
