Study, Angel Oak; drawing by Charles Brindley
My recently deceased father instilled my love for trees. One-hundred-year oaks and cedars and younger varieties were generous on our family land. "I think I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree," Daddy would crow frequently. No artist I know does trees greater justice than Southern gentleman artist-teacher Charles Brindley of Middle Tennessee. He was the subject of my first feature article as associate editor of the first NashvilleArts Magazine, back in 2006. His current exhibit–a stunning career showcase of awe-inspiring earthy subject matter–both painting and drawings–ends Sunday at University School of Nashville.
Really good post! Have a look at my latest painting: http://www.oilpaintingsstore.com/
