Listen to Your Mother Nashville Cast 4.26.14. TPAC

Promise you this: You're gonna laugh. You're gonna cry. And you're gonna be really, really sorry if you miss Nashville's Sat., April 26, 7PM TPAC Polk Theater premiere of "Listen to Your Mother." Nashville was one of 32 cities, nationwide, chosen to host this half live-stage event, half social media project, and a bridge that connects Nashville's writers with our local community and with the world online.

Listen to Your Mother Show started with one performance in Madison, Wis., and has now become a nation-wide movement creating a new way to celebrate Mother's Day by giving motherhood a microphone. LTYM shares stories of every facet of mothering–being a mom, or not being a mom, having a mom or other caretaker–all of the beauty, the beast, and the barely rested of motherhood.

While LTYM has featured best selling authors and professional actors, every day people with a story to tell make up the heart of LTYM, and our audiences come from all parts of the community. #LTYM and #LTYMnashville feature local writers, and Nashville was selected to produce a show for our community featuring our area voices. Woo-hoo! The show offers a smorgasbord of humorous and heartwarming works. Seriously: stuff your pockets full of tissues. You'll need them.

#Nashville is being publicized nationally as part of the LTYM project, and videos of each and every performance will be shared globally on YouTube. See over 500 videos from past seasons on the LTYMShow channel. Plans are to add another 400 this season.

Every LTYMS donates a portion of ticket proceeds to charity. We've selected Thistle Farms as our charitable partner. The project has raised over $25,000 for local non-profits to date.

I'm thrilled to be a part of this "electrifying celebration" of motherhood. To have a new, ever-widening love-fest community of special women friends who are willing to stand in front of a microphone and give voice not just for ourselves, but also for many others who share a similar experiences. In the following weeks, I'll share more about this adventure, including some of the backstory.

You will be there, right? Come experience it live with us. Get your TPAC tickets on line here.
