GraceART is happening all around and about NashVegas and here's some highlights of where you can find the work of Grace Walker Goad, my 19-year-old daughter with autism.

This blog post never made it to the light of day this past week to let you know that you could bid on this GraceART puzzle piece. My bad. And that cold virus that hung around way too long. This weekend, our favorite autism charity, Autism Tennessee (formerly Autism Society of Middle Tennessee) partnered with the local Autism Speaks in the second annual Masterpieces for Autism. Local artists and celebrities with and without autism were asked to create a work of art from a large, wooden puzzle piece. (The puzzle piece is the universal symbol for autism.) Here's "The Journey with Grace" post about the event last year, with some autism community history plus Grace's contribution. And, then, here is her contribution this year. I'm proud to report the piece received the highest bid in the auction. wOOT!:

GraceART has also begun making limited rounds to marketplaces, including a couple for the holidays, such as one last Thursday at the Grand Opening of Therapy in a Bin. Parents, teachers, therapists: you've got to check out their must-have products online. My new "bestie" owner, Maureen O'Sullivan Webb, founded this successful business for her children on the autism spectrum and recently relocated the physical headquarters of the business from Canada to Nashville.

Our notecard line is new in a couple of Nashville coffee houses now, including single cards (not available elsewhere), at the cool Headquarters on Charlotte Pike. Such a cool place and great coffee and nibbles. GraceART's notecard sets and her new tile line of paintings transferred to tiles will be included in the West End Makers Market at Atmology, Saturday, Dec. 14 from 2-5. Atamology is run by the sweetest young woman in an old two-story bungalow nestled in the bustling Vanderbilt region of West End. In addition to having a year-round artisan marketplace, the indie coffee shop has nutritious whole foods and vegan desserts made in-house. Oh, so yum! Plus, you can rent Atmology's comfy rooms for meetings. Please come see us and all the other cool artisans that will be alongside us.

Look for GraceART notecards also at 12th South's long standing purveyor of hipster fashion, Serendipty; Salon P'Nash Boutique in Cool Springs (behind Barnes and Noble,) and downtown at Tennessee Art League (where you can find packs of 10, whereas most venues are carrying half packs of five).

You can find both GraceART notecards and tiles at: Shimai Pottery, Gifts and Wearable Art at the shoppes of The Loveless Cafe and downtown Nashville at Gallery One and the Renaissance Center's Tennessee Artistan Market in Dickson. Shimai and the Renaissance Center have both the 6 x 8 trivet sizes and the 4×4 coaster sizes in each of the four designs:

Also, Anne Brown, the godmother of Nashville's visual arts scene, chose GraceART 6×8 tiles, above, for her holiday gift line at the fabulous Arts Company downtown on 5th Avenue of the Arts.

And that e-commerce update to the website: there's light at the end of the tunnel. Looks like I've got some help coming in the new year. Happy shopping, folks, but first, one more thing, something to think about in the wise words of Art of Autism Founder Debbie Hosseini about supporting artists with autism: http://the-art-of-autism.com/black-friday-holiday-shopping-six-autistic-ventures-to-support/
