The ACM Lifting Lives Music Camp will be in the spotlight on the stage of the 46th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, broadcast live on Sun., April 3, 7 p.m. CT on CBS! Hey, no foolin'! I'm Music City Proud and also bearing my disAbility pride atop it all!
Just learned more: 23 young adults with developmental disabilities from the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center’s 2010 music camp have been invited to perform with country music star Darius Rucker at the 46th Academy of Country Music Awards this Sunday, April 3, 2011, from 7-10 p.m. CDT. The campers’ performance will be broadcast live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, on the CBS Television Network. It’s expected that more than 20 million viewers will watch this show.
Vanderbilt Kennedy Center campers will join Rucker on stage to perform “Music from the Heart,” a song the campers wrote collectively last summer with ACM Lifting Lives® Music Camp songwriters Brett James and Chris Young. ACM Lifting Lives® is the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music. The organization sponsored the annual Kennedy Center camp in 2010 for the first time as part of their mission to improve lives through the power of music.
During and following the show, viewers, family and friends may donate to the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center by dialing toll free 1-888-9-LIFTING.
