Apologies to subscribers, this was
accidentally published on Sunday. You may be receiving this for a second
time as a result. Perhaps it was listening to Kelley dish on Oprah that
distracted me….Information regarding the canceled event, last graph, has been updated.

On Thursday, we appeared as guests of Channel 5's Talk of the Town host, Meryll Rose. Shown here, Meryll, before the live interview, reads up on the three stories we decided to talk about during our 4-minute segment, linked here. It tickled that we were originally scheduled to appear the next day–a Friday, which is an optimal slot–but got bumped by Kitty Kelley, in town to tell-all on Oprah, the subject of the unauthorized biographer's latest dishy tome.

Two days later, Sat., April 24, we had two back-to-back book-related events scheduled. But serious tornadic activity and thunderstorms threatened. Though we live just a few miles apart, I ended up driving myself to Cool Springs Borders for our early afternoon book signing because, just as she was leaving, Rebekah discovered water literally pouring into her home via a leak. I made it. She made it. Several souls braved the weather and made it and we ended up selling several books.

But, our event at the Downtown Nashville Public Library–a book signing,
ITVS Community Cinema's "The Horse Boy screening and our panel
discussion afterward was canceled. Community Cinema is attempting to reschedule the event within the next two weeks, before the PBS premiere of "The Horse Boy." Details forthcoming here. At this point, we intend for the book's accompanying photography exhibit "to drive" the process and the book will follow. We are already receiving requests locally and nationally and will be pursuing more for exhibit-book signing combo events. Thank you for your support of this special project. We are about to be in need for a second printing and are envisioning that our applied for grant will be accepted mid-summer and that the second printing will be funded. We are in the process of scheduling, per request, a September show and signing at a prominent, diverse, Nashville community location. Stay tuned here and at our book website, www.fromheartachetohope.org.

[Edited 4/30: "The Horse Boy" is
rescheduled for Fri., May 7 with a 6:15 reception, followed by the hour-long movie at 7 and an 8-8:45 panel
discussion at Sarratt Student Center, Vanderbilt University campus.
(Unlike the previously scheduled event, we will not be hosting a
separate book signing for our book during the reception. I will,
however, be on the panel, which will discuss how families are affected
by autism.)  My review of the movie, which I published on this blog on April 21 is here.]
