Our family–which in this case includes Grace's father–from whom I am divorced–his wife and my dear oldest sister and her husband and I–have managed to create a nice little summer rhythm for our beloved Grace. In late May, Grace ends her school year, spends a week at Camp Phi Phi's (my aforementioned sister in South Carolina) and about a month later a week at Easter Seals Camp (integrated) at YMCA Camp Widgiwagan and then a month later at the tail end of the season, another week at Camp Phi Phi while I then take a vacation. Woo-hoo! Coming up!

This year, the first two weeks Grace was away (end of May, end of June,) were devoted to working on my book now titled, "The Journey with Grace: Lessons Learned From my Daughter with Autism." Specifically, I'm rewriting my book proposal to send to agents this fall. But that first week after school had ended, graduation hoo-la and a slew of GraceArt shows and activities left me exhausted more than anything. Recovered, the last week of June, I made better use of time on the proposal. But when the day ended, I majored on play. So, while Grace played at camp, here's some snaps of my down home version. This is not to say we've not having fun (amid the taxi-ing about town) when Grace is here. (Although I've had a number of attitude adjustments!) More on that later. But, oh, to have entire days and evenings without motherly concerns. That. Is. A. Mighty Fine Camp. Indeed.
