For nearly a year I've been reading a very visually appealing blog called Ordinary Courage by a very smart woman with a thought-provoking message. Happily, I stumbled upon a PBS interview on YouTube interviewing Dr. Brene Brown, Ph.D., talking about the subject she has researched extensively. Brown is also author of an equally thought-provoking, conscious-inducing and conscience-pricking book entitled: I Thought It Was Just Meet (But it Isn't), Telling the Truth about Perfectionism, Inadequacy and Power. Listen here. This beautiful, intelligent and visionary woman has a powerful message:
*Thanks to Chookooloonks, an uber-favorite blog of mine, for introducing me to Brown and so many other things life-giving, beautiful and heart-soul-and-mind stimulating within the blogosphere.
She is terrific. I’ve never thought before about this concept, but I absolutely agree. And I could listen to her for much longer than those three minutes! Thanks for introducing her to me–I’m off to learn more.
JoLyn, you can find one or two more YouTubes of that interview. And, Brown has come out with/or is coming out with an another book. She recently spoke at TEDX Houston, as well. We will be seeing more of her. PNN (discussion forum online) has had two different groups discussing her book as well. I joined for about three weeks and could not keep up with all currently on my plate, but the book was very thought-provoking, like all of her work. Here’s a Google link to her name & YouTube with other references to her work: http://www.google.com/search?q=Brene+Brown+on+YouTube&hl=en&sourceid=gd&rlz=1D1GGLD_enUS356US357
